"The ORAFlex driver from Mertech Data Systems has opened up new business opportunities for our company. No longer do we have to walk away from prospective clients whose corporate standards specify the use of Oracle. A case in point is our latest project where we are developing an interface between an Oracle based concrete plant system running on a NT server and our client's DataFlex-based accounting system running in a different part of the country on a Unix server. The application has to detect new invoices and client master file changes in the concrete plant system and replicate them in the accounting software. Likewise, client master file activity in the accounting system has to be reflected in the concrete plant software.

This replication activity has to take place as a background process that does not unduly impact the performance of the two interfaced systems. In-house testing has revealed the driver to be very efficient in carrying out this task. In fact, its performance has been found to be superior to that of the Uniface based concrete plant software.
An easy-to-read manual aids in the learning of the product and Mertech has proven themselves to be responsive to requests for technical assistance.
