MOORE FORMULARIOS LTDA, a subsidiary of Moore Corporation of Canada, has purchased a 250-user ORAFlex license which will be deployed with its DataFlex character mode applications running with an Oracle 7.3.x for NetWare backend and Windows 95 clients. Moore has been testing ORAFlex with its existing DataFlex applications for several weeks and plans to go live with the new environment by the end of 1998. "ORAFlex provides us with a safe path to future expansion of our development environment," said Luigi Paolini of Moore Formularios. "We have done a number of simulations and tests with ORAFlex and are very excited with the results we have obtained. Our users and management actually found it hard to believe that we are now working with an Oracle backend with very little change in our existing DataFlex source code and almost the same speed as our previous system."
Explaining why Moore decided to use ORAFlex, Luigi said, "we were very impressed by the quality and stability of ORAFlex. Mertech worked with us closely to optimize our applications and made quick changes to ORAFlex to incorporate new features and optimization. The end result for us is that we will be able to quickly switch our production system to an Oracle and DataFlex based client/server system. ORAFlex also provides us with an easy solution to our year 2000 issues."
