MYSQL DATABASE DRIVER FOR PERVASIVE USERS NOW AVAILABLE
Mertech’s, latest driver release, BTR2SQL for MySQL is now available for download. BTR2SQL for MySQL allows users of Btrieve/Pervasive transaction engines to run their applications with MySQL without requiring source level changes.
After successful beta testing, the final release of the driver was made in July.
Mertech’s plug-in architecture allows Btrieve/Pervasive users to support multiple databases with the same source base. Applications developed with the Pervasive (Btrieve) transactional API can run with Oracle, MS SQL Server and now with MySQL without expensive reengineering costs.
"We are seeing strong interest for MySQL among Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). MySQL's low total cost of ownership (TCO) is very attractive for ISVs looking to run their applications with a low-maintenance relational database engine with small memory footprint." said Riaz Merchant, Mertech CEO. This will be Mertech’s second offering for the MySQL market. Mertech already offers a MySQL driver for DataFlex users.
