FLEX2SQL V11 AVAILABLE ON MAY 16

Subhead:
Drivers for Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL with new features

Mertech Data Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming
availability of version 11 Flex2SQL database drivers on May 16, after a
successful beta launch. The main goal of the v11 release was to ensure
coexistence with changes to the database structure outside of the
DataFlex tools. In v10, we removed the need for a structure cache
files (.TD files) by increasing the performance of accessing table
structure information in system tables. In v11, we added relationship
synchronizer that exports DataFlex relationship to SQL backends and
also allows relationship created directly on the backend to be
imported into the DataFlex environment by updating the .INT file.

Another important change is the complete revamp of our documentation. We have added new content to help users navigate through issues such as blob handling, code optimization for better performance and deployment issues.

The top new features of our v11 drivers include:

  • Full control over table casing on the SQL side
  • Save up to five connection string in the login dialog
  • Relationship synchronization with the database server
  • Documentation revamp with new content
  • New feature to ease merging multiple tables into one
  • Complete support for all native data types
  • Improved script generation
  • Supports creating of RowID table from the GUI migration tool
  • Generate SQL script for restructure operation
  • Significant performance improvement in using ESQL commands
